Defeated

Defeated

A Poem by Gerhardus Retief

Well done really done made it stayed it.
Beaten me in every mental way possible.
Hurt me over and over and even more when its over.
I would take a place in the fire with you but there is only enough place for one ruler.
Ill shake your hand but I am not sure where mine would land.
Took my pride,my life, my list of things that was taken.
For long last I walk free defeated and hurt all over again.
You are a monster of me through all your wicked lies.
Keep me on a string of hope right at the door.
Foolish I cling to it when it is just a mask for your evil plans.
This is why the forsaken is my friends everyday.
But when I remember it all it will tear a rift in my mind again.
Further and further you drift from me when I try to pry the sword from you.
Bleed until we both turn to hunger for more.
But in the end I gave in to you so you can have your satisfaction.
To look down at me with those burnt eyes of conflict.
Give in or decide or make a way for both of the pretentious soul.
This is the end of the ride where I get off and you keep going till I'm flattened.
