Dissonance

Dissonance

A Poem by John D Phillips
"

A postmodern epitaph.

"

a hiss
a snore
a tear
breaking point accompaniment
some mild former wonderful
Genghis, conquest spent,
spending minutes
an hour
a day
vanquishing the tone between.

a bore
a story
a crackle
sparking on the pavement
some storied messiah, fire
bent and scurrilous,
scurries from a light
a sound
a city
languishing there between.

a noise
a sorrow
a scar
on the nose of gravity
some ugly apocalypse
plotted once more,
more to burn a life
an instance
a candle
extinguished, his scars between.

a thread
a miss
a harp
playing to the vast ocean
some wild antiphonal gasping
music, forced from home,
homing in on a note
a choke
a rhythm
relinquishing the air between.

Amazing...... the imaginary is outstanding, the character is so powerful, devoted, pull apart by himself, by his experiences, this is spectacular. A very captivating, magical write! This poem has freedom, it's free of any chains, gravity has no power upon it, incredible independence.

Thank you very much!
