Blame

Blame

A Poem by Allie

you start by biting at my ankles

but soon enough your tide held my whole body;

a gentle current became

violent waves that crashed through my core

and your kisses left me gasping for breath

with blue lips and shriveled fingers

but you injected salt water into my own veins

and since the dreaded tsunami

was a part of me as well,

i had to blame myself.
