THE SNAIL,THE SHELL..

THE SNAIL,THE SHELL..

A Poem by disciple

A pauper once said: Your Majesty’

What a dreadful thought of an empty future…

Where is the smile on the faces of our children?

Where is the joy to redeem our tears?

Please! Where is the consoling heart to seduce our pain and fears?

Are we to chase and never to cease?

…Now the snail has lost its shell

Could Ben and dad replace it?

What of all the ritual and baptism?

Oh no! Now you must also find it extremely hard to rescue our fears’!

Kind Sir ‘Your observation is extremely odd!

You mere say, but forget humanity turns

                                        Their thoughts towards the empty

and transitory nature of riches and honor

Everybody said anybody could do the good,

   but nobody did!

What of the danger in hasty determination?

How about the pretense of reasoning

The supine indolence of the mind?

Should the snail locate its shell: of what bad or good?

You see! There are too many chiefs, but no Indians

Since observed by, Yours Faithfully GOD’.
