Self-PortraitA Poem by Ilana K
If I were to draw myself
The lines would go off the page My stomach would be so round So bold and fat that there would be no room If I were to paint myself the desk would accumulate splotches of paint because my figure would protrude the boundaries of paper If I were to build myself I wouldn't find enough clay And I would remain unfinished for all to see and laugh at If I were to truly look at myself As I have cowardly avoided who knows what I would see And if I were to contemplate my very existence hatred would drive me to write a poem called "Self Portrait" © 2012 Ilana KAuthor's Note
