Selfish Approach To Love

Selfish Approach To Love

A Poem by Robert Fachowski

I don't love you because I love you.
I love you because I love me.
Thank you.

When I look at you and feel,
 deep down in my bones,
how much you mean to me,
I am driven.

Better.
Its all I ever want to be,
so that when I gaze into your eyes
I know you're smiling;
satisfied at what you see.

You deserve the best like
racing through a chill night
with the wind in our hair, windows rolled down
and a love song playing just for you.

Quite a unique poem you got here. It's actually selfish and selfless at the same time. The first stanza was the only selfish one, the rest, it's like all you want is the best for that person- which is the total opposite of selfishness. I loved how you played with the imagery of the last stanza. Good job!:D
