more than i could lend

more than i could lend

A Poem by DiMar4u

i've watched it before,

time has it's way of

tearing my tree apart;

all the elements

of the earth conspired:

first water, loosening the

stronghold, defeating roots....

....then, the wind and the ice,

weighing it  down,

testing strength;

i've watched it before,

though i can't look away,

i can't help but want....

....that i might stay--

it's a bitter taste,

lurking in my world

and, though i might

hope again, it's more

than i can lend--

while looking for the end.

This was a great piece. I love how you relate all the elements to things you want to be. I enjoyed this piece. I can also relate to it.

we all have been there and recognize the taste of fear

I had to read this a couple times to fully appreciate it. I didn't understand that "hope" was what was more than you could lend. Now that i'm seeing that, boy do i know that feeling!
