the cargo cult phenomenon

the cargo cult phenomenon

A Story by DiMar4u

During world war 2 the us built airstrips on remote islands and the natives loved it because they were given free stuff, canned goods, and all sorts of stuff....they called it "cargo".

After the war was over, the natives went down to the airstrips and built wooden airplanes and performed ceremonies to try 2 invoke the visitors.

Its a reflection of regression as a defense mechanism when facing the unknown. The priests told the natives that the visitors were their dead ancestors bringing them food. The primitive brain is limited, part of its success came from simplicity and the indifference to endure.

The cargo cult phenomenon is a rebuking of regression. It is the determination to approach all challenges with full faculty and presence of mind. You are the author of reality.
