Maybe In Another Life

For anyone who has had "the one" slip away from their grasp.

Maybe in another life I'd be yours, and you'd be mine.
We'd stay in on weekends, and gaze into the vacant night.
Sifting through the memories as the sun began to shine.
Staring into your beautiful eyes, I cried,"'Tis a sight."

Watching you enter a room was like seeing an angel.
Your smile could light up even the darkest of places.
When we met eyes for the first time I felt my heart tangle.
We danced that night away and I felt all of God's graces.

The way that you would look at me was just so infectious.
I could never get enough of you, even together.
Being with you was all that I cherished, you were precious.
Can't help but smile because we were made for each other.

So, maybe in another life I'd be the one for you.
As time passes, I realize we are going different ways.
I will keep writing these verses just to get me on through.
Fading memories that all began with your starry gaze.
