For you, my DearA Poem by dillonjensenI listened to Bob Dylan's Make You Feel My Love and felt inspired to write something.
Hard to see you happy but I'm glad it's so.
A dear friend you once were; now you're like my foe. Why did we drift so far apart when we left? To go our separate ways; it seems like theft. A million words I could write on this day to, Make you feel what I was ready to give you. Even that is not enough to earn your heart. I'm sorry it ended before it did start. Looking back on the things I did wrong it's clear. I was too ashamed to cast aside my fear. Wishing for that dreadful day to never come. When you say to leave and instantly I'm numb. I only want to see your face one last time. Because I know I'll never has you as mine. I'm sorry for the melancholic goodbye. Sitting alone in this room, I'll wonder why? © 2012 dillonjensenAuthor's Note
