For you, my Dear

For you, my Dear

A Poem by dillonjensen
"

I listened to Bob Dylan's Make You Feel My Love and felt inspired to write something.

"
Hard to see you happy but I'm glad it's so.
A dear friend you once were; now you're like my foe.
Why did we drift so far apart when we left?
To go our separate ways; it seems like theft.

A million words I could write on this day to,
Make you feel what I was ready to give you.
Even that is not enough to earn your heart.
I'm sorry it ended before it did start.

Looking back on the things I did wrong it's clear.
I was too ashamed to cast aside my fear.
Wishing for that dreadful day to never come.
When you say to leave and instantly I'm numb.

I only want to see your face one last time.
Because I know I'll never has you as mine.
I'm sorry for the melancholic goodbye.
Sitting alone in this room, I'll wonder why?
