A Conversation With Myself

A Conversation With Myself

A Poem by dillonjensen
"

I tried to make this from the perspective of my inner voice talking to me in my head. Wow, that sounded odd. Hope you like it. Instagram: @dillonleejensen

I am the narrator of your life.
Continually I press pause, rewind, fast forward...
In your head of course.
I am the voice inside your head,
I am your ever-changing ego,
Your sense of self-worth,
Your self-esteem,
Your vision of who you think you are,
I am you in all the ways that you are not,
And right now I need you to smile
Because you haven't done that in a while
Have you?
I need you to get your s**t together
Because you're starting to bring me down.
The old adage "everything affects everything,"
Well you're affecting me negatively
So stop.
Take a deep breath.
And smile.
We've got one f*****g shot at this thing,
This thing I refer to as a flash of brilliance,
So I beg you to try to crawl out of the hole you have dug.
We'll do this together.
