A Battle Fought By All

A Battle Fought By All

A Poem by dillonjensen
"

A certain type of sadness sparked this into my head.

"
True loneliness finds us at night,
Staring at an empty vessel.
Mirrors begin to show their spite,
As the thoughts set out to wrestle.

A vacancy sign taunts the mind,
Ushering in dark fantasies.
Eyes once clear are clouded blind,
Discovering new fallacies.

Lasting darkness looms in our heads,
Like never-ending depression.
Hope dangles as the virus spreads,
White flags show our forced confession.

Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde,
Sums up the internal struggle.
Hands tremble when choosing a side,
Something we all have to juggle.

You are not alone in your fight with depression. There is always a reason to smile, no matter how much you have to force it.

Thank you for reminding us we are not alone in this battle. That knowledge surely lightens the burden. By the way, I think your smile in the picture is adorable. Just saying. :) Keep the positive spirit!
