India is one of the rapidly growing customer markets in the whole world improving from an unorganized casual market to organized retail in most of the Indian cities. Which also includes tier-II towns and even some large counties. Metro cities. Among all consumer products, cosmetics and personal care sector is one of the rapidly growing sectors with high potential for companies. This sector has shown consistent and sturdy growth, with enhanced shelf space in the retail stores as well as boutiques. From April 1, 2013, all cosmetic import India should be registered with CDSCO which is the licensing authority under the office of Drug controller general of India.

You must be wondering why there is a demand for import of cosmetic products in India? Well! It is because of the enhanced urban population, steady growth in organized retail, enhanced disposable income, enhanced affordability of luxurious and lifestyle products, product choice etc. The most important factor for someone who wants to enter the personal care and cosmetics market in India is careful research and analysis of the sales channels along with customer preferences.

The Indian government also framed certain rules for over the counter topical acne drug products. The available guidance will help all small businesses to understand and remain in compliance with the FDA regulations. Some of the common regulations to be followed for registration of the acne products are:

-       Benzoyl peroxide is recognized as safe and effective and an active ingredient in acne products.

-       All new warnings, as well as directions, must be mentioned in the labelling of OTC acne drug products that consist of benzoyl peroxide.

-       All the labelling requirements have been revised to make sure about the consistency with the standardized drug facts.

-       Along with all these regulations CDSCO set some restrictions for the use of Isotretinoin,  that is used as a product for the treatment of severe acne.

So, these are a few regulations set by CDSCO for registration of acne products in India. Any individual intending to introduce those products in the Indian market should follow all these regulations very strictly.
