College Trip To Delhi

My college authorities planned an excursion to Delhi. I was not very happy because I had already visited that place thrice. I was unaware of the fact that this tour is going to be the most memorable and cherishable so far.

The only thing I loved about Delhi was the most popular hangout point, Connaught Place (CP). I called one of my friends and discussed the coffee shops in CP. Also, Delhi has the best dessert shop in cp, that is Brioche Dorée. It’s a French food chain that serves amazing pastries. I was very much excited to visit that place and have the best pastries and coffee apart from their French Cuisine.

We reached our hotel in Delhi. At the reception, they informed us about our hotel room no. and provided us with the keys. We were asked to freshen up and report in 15mins. The hotel looked like a heavenly palace of olden times, situated near Central Park. It had a combination of charm and peace. The staff was attentive and available to offer any help to guests. On the ground floor, there was a comfortable lounge to sit. There was also a lavish terrace where we used to relax.

While we were waiting for other students to come downstairs, my friends and I started clicking selfies. We were all set to visit the monuments and explore Delhi. Our itinerary included a visit to Qutub Minar, Humayun’s Tomb, Dilli Haat, Select Citywalk, Lotus Temple, Hauz Khas Village and finally, Connaught Place.

We came back to our hotel room after covering almost every beautiful place in Delhi. The next thing left for us was to cover the entire Connaught Place. While the other girls were excited about their shopping, I, particularly, was more interested in exploring the coffee shops in CP and pastries in Brioche Dorée, a French Café Bakery and the best dessert shop in CP.  After calculating the possibilities, we decided that it would be better if we visited the French Café Restaurant on the next day.

Next morning, we were all decked up to fill our hungry hearts with the best coffee and pastries. We reached CP at 7 pm and walked around the outer circle and then the inner circle. After an hour of loitering around, we spotted ‘THE PLACE,’ Brioche Dorée.

We entered into the café and the ambiance was very alluring. I went there with two of my friends, Kavita and Nobo. I met them on my first day of college. We happened to be from the same hometown. Now that we are sitting at the best dessert shop in CP,  we ordered 2 Mango Mint Bursts for refreshment and Paris Croissant and Roasted Veg & Olive Pizza puff for the main course. The last item remaining on the list was my favorite - Blueberry Cheese Cake for dessert. Even though this place was veg, I still liked this place because of the delicious food and awesome service.

We came back to the hotel at around 10 pm with a belly full of good food and a heart full of awesome memories. In the next two days, we explored some nearby hill stations including Kasoli and Manali. The fresh air was much needed after our whereabouts in the pollution filled the air of Delhi. I was finally glad that I had come for this trip.

Two days later, it was time for us to leave. With a boarding pass on my left hand, I was thinking about the great time we had in Delhi all this while and eventually, after we were settled in the flight, I went off to sleep.
