Plans For A Trip To The North East India

We live in a time where we are way too busy with our own lives. A few nights ago, my sister called me and asked me how I plan to spend the next weekend. She said that she and her friends were going on a trip to the North East and wanted her to accompany them and that she wanted me to join them too. I readily agreed because we haven’t spent time together in ages and I quite really needed a break. She asked me to meet her at a café near CP or any other suitable place in that area. I moved in to Delhi 2 years after she did but we never stayed together. The reason being, we get into arguments too easily when together for a long time. With time, those arguments have lessened but there is always one potential argument brewing up whenever we have a conversation.

The culture of café restaurants in CP has been growing since long now. I, however, have come to like a place particularly, that I consider better than the rest at CP. The place serves French cuisine, which has always been one of my favorites. The fact that I am not a real foodie, like the ‘Hashtag-Instafoodie’ people on Instagram, it is well known among my friends. However, they say that when I come to like some place, like this particular café near CP, they never get a chance to be disappointed.

I hung up the call after asking my sister if we could meet at Brioche Dorée at around 8.00 pm. She replied in the affirmative. However, she asked me to make it a little early, as there was much to talk about. Without a single argument, surprisingly, we came upon a mutual agreement of meeting at 7.00 pm. When I met her, she wore a beautiful summer dress and I immediately recalled it to be the one that my mother had sent to me as a gift; but since she loved it, she decided to keep it. She had this idea that this café near CP would not be as up to the mark as she thinks that I do not really have a very rich taste in food. I guess I’ve grown some taste since I moved I to Delhi and needed to hunt for places to eat as I couldn’t really acquire the taste for North Indian food in the first few months. I was of the opinion that they just put the word masala into every recipe and make it their own. Masala Pasta, Masala this, Masala that! I wondered if they’ll have things like Masala Lasagne, Masala Mac N Cheese, Afghani Burritos and what not.

Brioche Dorée served French food and the best desserts in CP. It was definitely one of the best café restaurants in CP that I’d ever been to. We exchanged all the gossip, talked of all the politics and entertainment stuff and finally moved on to the main topic. We planned our route map and we discussed all the expenses.  Though we are from the North East, we haven’t visited most of the places yet. It was the perfect chance for us and we were more than happy with the arrangement. There’s no beauty in the entire India as there is in the North East, is what I’ve always believed. She thanked me for bringing her to that café near CP and said that she never knew about the place before. The pasta and the tarts we ordered were totally worth it and she stated that she had never really enjoyed vegetarian food that much before this.

That night as I went back home, I remembered to thank the stars for the little bits of happiness that we keep receiving now and then. For quite a long time before I finally went to sleep, I kept thinking of the mountains and the beautiful, clear blue skies at North East. I’m sure that I slept with my smile on.
