![]() Best Compact Farm TractorA Story by Digital Ram![]() The compact farm tractor should have ample towing capacity to be able to tow a small trailer. Also, it should have sufficient lifting capacity & good hydraulics so that I can dig ditches where I need![]() Years after we had moved away from the bustling life of the
city, my wife & I bought a piece of land to grow our own food. In the
beginning, we cultivated only a short portion where we would grow potatoes,
onions sometimes tomatoes etc. But over time we directed our venture towards
multiple crop farming. So, I began searching about compact utility tractors as I knew we would need some
muscle power for our farm.
But I didn’t know how to buy compact
tractor. All I did know was there is a list of functionalities I
would expect from compact farm tractors.
And at the top of the priority list was front-end-loader. Another
was the ability of the tractor to be able to attach a variety of implements as
I would require it to perform a variety of tasks.
The compact farm
tractor should have ample towing capacity to be able to tow a
small trailer. Also, it should have sufficient lifting capacity & good
hydraulics so that I can dig ditches where I need to. The biggest concern of
all while looking at compact utility
tractors online was whether I will be able to get a tractor with
a complete gear-box in my budget.
Quickly, I narrowed down my search for to a few brands and
their compact utility tractors. I
wouldn’t talk about the compact farm tractors
I rejected in the process, but the one I bought & its close
competitor. Solis 20 is the tractor I bought for our farm, and its revved-up
brother Solis 26.
As it is obvious, both the tractors come from the same compact tractor company &
perform similarly. The best feature of the duo is the optional front-end loader
with an equal lifting capacity of half a ton each. What’s even better is that
both compact farm tractors come with
6 forward & 2 reverse gearboxes. Specs of other affordable options from
other compact tractor company
were nowhere near to what Solis was offering with these two.
I made my choice after quite some consideration. Although
with Solis 26 I got added 6HP, power steering, disc brake & greater towing
capacity of 1600 kg, I chose Solis 20 for some quite reasons. Firstly, I was
amazed by how quiet its engine was even while driving when compared to Solis
26. And secondly, I prefer drum brakes on a compact
utility tractors as they can be repaired on-site if required. Also,
its diesel engine is more energy efficient & offers some extra mileage. The
most attractive feature is the affordable pricing of these two compact farm tractors. Although I
chose the more affordable & fuel efficient Solis 20, those who require some
extra power & stronger breaks can go for Solis 26.
Its been a year since I bought my compact utility tractor & the productivity at my farm has
grown by manifolds as I have been able to cultivate larger portions. I have
been able to dig ditches, canals across the farm with ease. With the
single-pinch detachment system of the front-end loader, it scores quiet well in
terms of convenience. Also, since I live in a hilly region, the traction &
manual gearbox supplies greater maneuverability any other machine I have ever
used.
Also, I have recently bought a potato harvesting implement
from the company which has greatly reduced the harvesting time. So, to whoever
is looking for a well equipped compact
utility tractor, Solis’s S series might fit right into your budget and
requirements. Also, the parent company of the brand Sonalika, is among the
global pioneers in the tractor manufacturing industry, making the choice even
more valuable. © 2019 Digital Ram |
