Crackle

Crackle

A Poem by The Analog Kid
"

While trolling YouTube, I found an old favorite song playing on a turntable.

"

Some days you just have

to stay up and write

regardless

of how tired you are

because your soul

is probably

more

weary than you are

and since you were

looking for

something online

you found it.

inadvertently.

that nugget from your

boyhood past

you used to play the

hell out of it

on your Walkman

the fact that

some random GUY

bought the album

you never had it.

at least

had it on vinyl.

he put it on You Tube

with all its crackle

and pop

and said he bought

it for a buck

at a thrift shop

this took me back

even farther

and brought a tear to my eye

I used "GUY" because it's a guy type song/music.

I remember the days of records and cassettes... though I enjoy the technology of today I still miss those days. Thanks for the nostalgia.

I wonder if we are allowed to take our memories with us when we die? Reminiscing of younger years, daydreaming of the past and the little things that take us there are certainly a treasure. Great job!

We all have thoughts and memories like that. It is odd how little of an action can bring back memories. I like this piece. It shows people being people.
