I love the NASA of the past and I am proud of our accomplishments in space. Obviously, it's a recurring theme for me. I bet God let Neil stop and play on the moon for a brief visit before his soul departed our realm.

Your poem is "out of this world!" It touched my heart in so many ways(as did your author's note). I remember the day of the first moon landing so well- I couldn't watch it because I was in France, but my mother told me that my dad cried. He had been a factory worker who had worked on making some of the cables for the project. The old NASA meant so much to our family. When my dad passed, my mom had "one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind" engraved on his headstone. Thank you for sharing your poem. Also, I think it is beautifully written as well!

I feel the same as you in your note.. I love the poem for Mr. Armstrong- What an amazing life he lived. To walk on the moon... hard for me to fathom.

It is amazing and he passed with little fanfare. What a humble man. Thanks for reading:)))

I enjoyed your poem but what you wrote in the author's note is what really touched my heart. Oh so special..........I bet God let Neil stop and play on the moon for a brief visit before his soul departed our realm. Wow! Not that is an extremely special thought P.S. I posted this to FB hope you don't mind with a note for everyone to check out the authors note..wow!

Well thank you very much Neva. I appreciate you posting it:)
The man who gave us a step to remember, passes along, those memories are forever. Made in a time when men were men and true grit meant the courage to do what no one else could. He allowed the dreamers to dream and the imagination of many to soar where no soul had before. He will be missed and remembered. He was a rock of a man who went to a rock and came home again, a legend. RIP Neil.
