Shadow bird

Shadow bird

A Poem by Bare trees

A shadow bird has found seed
upon which to savor; which to feed.
Then swiftly, with a flutter,
from a feathery rudder,
is off again to tally the hours
by the height of the sun.
Patiently employed until sleep has come.

Much welcome.
Captivating and very well written poem. I was much into the words,*until sleep has come*... great imaginary! :-)

Thanks for the review. :-)))))
i really like this...although i might leave out the Author's Note so that the reader can relate to the poem as he or she might.

before i read the note, i read the poem...for me it spoke of those who take advantage of others...or get into fly by night relationships...break hearts and then move because they get bored...and the next sleep of contentment comes...but that too, will be ephemeral...

i like the concise style.
