Lost Lullaby

Lost Lullaby

A Poem by Dietrich von Crowe

An alluring voice once called my name,
One of sweet, melodious elation;
A solemn sound with ringing bells
That sang with deprivation.

This falling voice I came to love,
As it sang in wanting choir,
Moved and flowed throughout the world
And set its seas on fire.

With harmony and dreaming hope,
The beloved hum reached my ears,
Where it caressed my soul, my sleepless mind,
Whilst giving back lost years...

It carried to the celestial plains
Of the angels and Great Michael
Who wept with cold and envied love
For the voice sang to a devil.

So the guardian of Heaven's Gate
Fought for revelation
To free the only voice I knew
To feel the warm sensation.

Despite my love, my demon's joy,
Heaven took the voice from me.
Now I seek that lost lullaby
To hear my name’s elegy.

Hmm lullaby for a demon who has lost his voice. I can honestly I've never read a poem embracing this subject matter before and I daresay the demon didn't deserve your eloquence but I'm sure he's grateful. :)

Different. I'm not entirely sure what you have going on here, but I have to admit that it was enjoyable to read. The imagery is beautiful and tragic, all at once. Well done.

Well you've certainly perfected this poem.
The lost lullaby.
The demon's joy stolen.
The 'angel's' voice silenced.
Reminds me of a dream I heard about. =]

It really is beautiful.
Such a beautiful song it must have been, as well.

I really loved the flow of this poem. It painted a vivid image in my mind about the smooth sounds of a lullaby. I was not sure what you were trying to convey at first, but after reading it a few times it became clear. Good job.
