Am I to StayA Poem by Dietrich von CroweRondeauAm
I to stay within this pew, Bedazzled,
by prestigious rue-- That
antiquated solitaire Whose
luster seems to never wear, Adorning
every day’s debut--
Or
do I make a purpose new And
flee with proper thoughts askew? A
serpent sings to me, but where Am
I to stay?
Upon
absconding, vice in view, I
came to know the fit though few. Thence
Beauty came to know us there, Outside
the walls of Godless prayer, And
bade us worship Her. But who Am
I to stay? © 2012 Dietrich von Crowe |
