Heartbreaker

Heartbreaker

A Poem by diaphanous

She always wanted what she couldn't have
she chased and pulled, played and grabbed.
tossed countless people aside
and let their sadness fade into memories.

She found a new man
who treated her like a queen
he loved her more than she could stand
so she cheated on him.

How could she be so selfish and cruel?
treating him like nothing more than a fool.
twisting his mind
playing with his heart
even after he'd been so kind,
trusting her from the very start.

She hadn't always been this way
there'd been a time, not long ago
when she loved someone.
She'd never loved before,
she didn't know its consequences.

That someone broke her and didn't care
how devastatingly hard she cried.
She learned never again to lay her soul bare
keep everything she felt locked up inside.
In order to hide from pain,
she didn't let herself feel anything.

Each time she hurt anyone
she felt completely numb.
hollow-eyed and heavy
with her frozen heart,
she ignored their suffering.

She just kept waiting and waiting
to feel something.

first time i read about a woman who cheats here, that was clear, but u know she might love someone who is not a man , she might love someone in her family like her mother more than him and also give her more attention and also try to destroy her man just for the sake of her mother so she can be happy. what do u think of that?

Phew, I totally got lost in the poem! It touches the heart. Simple words used to describe the intricacy of feelings... loved it!
