A Story by diaphanous

"God f*****g d****t!"
I slammed my hands against my thin, flimsy keyboard. I almost wanted the damn thing to break so I'd have an excuse for not writing anymore. But no, the plastic keys staunchly refused to yield to my rage. I sighed and rubbed my aching knuckles. I couldn't write anymore. I hadn't written anything in months. I glared at the bright unfriendly screen staring at me. If I let my eyes un-focus, it pulsed, like it was alive. I'd been playing this game for hours, pretending that the computer was actually a real entity, doing this to me on purpose. Taunting me with the perpetually blank document, falling asleep on me after a certain period of time, distracting me with Facebook and Twitter. I folded my arms.
"I can't think with you staring at me!" I snapped at it. "Oh my God. I'm going nuts. I'm talking to my f*****g computer. This is your fault!" I pointed my index finger at the blank document.
In revenge, I pressed the power button and it shut down.

So many of us can relate to this. Writer's block is painful and frustrating. When it happens to me I always wonder if my inspiration will return and if she does she is going to hear about it.
