I am alone

I am alone

A Story by Dianne

I am alone. I had been the youngest of four. Mother got divorced before I was two. In an instant my sisters and brother are gone. My best friends and my rivals are all gone. Her husband stole them away. He doesn’t want me. I live in a strange neighborhood, in a different house.

Mother works nights. I dress by my self now. No one tells me to be quiet. There is no need to. There is nothing to do here. On the refrigerator I find instructions for breakfast, a bowl of cereal and a glass of milk. I eat. I walk down the street to the baby sitter’s. Her girls are nice. I miss my brother.

When she wakes, Mother comes for me. She’s been crying. We go back. I am still alone. I learn that family and friends will never be there when I need them. I am always alone.

A lovely peice of writing. So intense. There's a lot of emotion there. Loved it.

About
I'm a new writer. Oh, I've written stuff for work and such over the years, technical writing, lesson plans, resumes; you know the usual stuff of life. Instead I was always a reader. I read like crazy .. more..
