Child of Gaia

Child of Gaia

A Story by Dianne

When I was 5 I would go into the woods behind our house and climb the tallest fir tree. I would climb as high as I could get without breaking the tiny little limbs up there. Even climbing with the souls of my feet against the trunk rather than in the small limbs so I could get higher.

I would stand there looking out over the tops of the trees and watch the birds soaring on the breeze. Then I would carefully slide my feet out the limb to where it was flexible and let go, sliding down the limbs as they bent and lowered me to the ground.

What profound joy, as my partner tree carried me to the ground from which we both sprang forth.

About
I'm a new writer. Oh, I've written stuff for work and such over the years, technical writing, lesson plans, resumes; you know the usual stuff of life. Instead I was always a reader. I read like crazy .. more..
