Tear Drops on the Grave

Tear Drops on the Grave

A Poem by Diana Owen Busy with Life BBS!

I never thought there would be
a time that you would be missing
from my side.

I always thought we would have the
time to carry out our plans.

If only I had told you all the things
I had to say.
then maybe I wouldn’t feel so guilty
for the last thing that we said.

My heart weeps in agony for the
emptiness that It feels.
nothing can stop those
strings from playing
as it sings it’s mournful song.

As I gaze at the tombstone
With a name that is imprinted on
My soul, and my tear
drops fall upon a grave
Where the part of me that
is whole is buried..

There was so much agony in this piece, it was so heartfelt and sad. Tears and pain were so visible and the last stanza brought everything together. Beautiful write.

Wow, very haunting. Yea, wishing to turn back the hands of time to say 'I Love You' one last time... I bet it's such a difficult and agonizing feeling, as well as a frightening one. Very touching piece. Now, go love ur man, right now!!!! ;) hehe

Very well written. This is a great tribute to the fears we all have. Any family member we lose seems to leave a vacuum which is very hard to fill. I would like to invite you to read A Letter to Home.

This is a very loving "tribute" and a fear we all face i believe. I wouldn't know what to do without my wife, as she's such a large part of my life when I'm home. She does everything for me and our family.
Excellent piece here, full of raw emotion.

losing anyone unexpectedly is a blow...and especially so if the last words shared were not the best....the fear and sadness of losing the one you love is evident here in this work. very nicely done.
