Tear Drops on the Grave

Tear Drops on the Grave

A Poem by Diana Owen Busy with Life BBS!

I never thought there would be
a time that you would be missing
from my side.

I always thought we would have the
time to carry out our plans.

If only I had told you all the things
I had to say.
then maybe I wouldn’t feel so guilty
for the last thing that we said.

My heart weeps in agony for the
emptiness that It feels.
nothing can stop those
strings from playing
as it sings it’s mournful song.

As I gaze at the tombstone
With a name that is imprinted on
My soul, and my tear
drops fall upon a grave
Where the part of me that
is whole is buried..

Such a feeling of sadness from this piece. I would hate to think of that kind of loss.

Wow! That was intesne. Its very neat how you can go out and tell a fear you have. I think we all of a fear somewhat like that, losing someone to close. What's to early though? I'm not asking that really just a thought for you to ask. Is to early if he dies before you? I don't know. I'm just talking. I enjoyed this piece.

I fear my wife dying first and me growing old alone with no one there to be by my side. I think you conveyed that so perfectly well here. I like the flow and emotions that this had and conveyed. Made for a very enjoyable read. In the sense of your words painting the scene so well not the idea of that kind of loss.

DIANA! THIS WAS FANTASTIC!!!!! I understand this feeling. I think it's precisely why I have such a hard time with love. you've done a superb job with this. Knock on wood you will never had to experience what you've so beautifully described.

I understand this emotional piece more than you'll know. It is impossible to live as though there is no tomorrow. My wife and I have made a solemn pact..no-matter what has been said, or done, if one of us goes quickly only the good words spoken, and not the last human words of rage will be remembered. We are human and marriage is not all wine and roses. Believe in your love for each other. Great piece. Rain..
