Tear Drops on the Grave

Tear Drops on the Grave

A Poem by Diana Owen Busy with Life BBS!

I never thought there would be
a time that you would be missing
from my side.

I always thought we would have the
time to carry out our plans.

If only I had told you all the things
I had to say.
then maybe I wouldn’t feel so guilty
for the last thing that we said.

My heart weeps in agony for the
emptiness that It feels.
nothing can stop those
strings from playing
as it sings it’s mournful song.

As I gaze at the tombstone
With a name that is imprinted on
My soul, and my tear
drops fall upon a grave
Where the part of me that
is whole is buried..

"nothing can stop those
strings from playing
as it sings it's mournful song. " ----splendid lines !
I like how you expressed your fear, indeed one can heal herself with writing the fear down and recognizing that a fear is paralyzing us. We need to be prepared to everything, that would make us stronger (I try this way),
great cleverly arranged words, poetic beautiful read.

This is so very powerful... as I'm sure it happens all too often.

I think many of us feel this way, worried that our love will be taken to early... thats why we should never leave regret or doubt that they know how much we love them... we should tell them everyday of our lives...

Your poem is so heartfelt and emotional.

I can appreciate the fears in this piece because they're genuine, and filled with actual feeling. However, I see nothing in the piece that distinguishes it from spoken word--not the "genre" but the act of speaking out loud.

I don't mean to preach, although that often becomes the case. I've considered the purpose of literature lengthily and come to the conclusion that it is to express what cannot be said in words, i.e., the subtleties and inner dreams and hopes, etc., etc., that make up a true human experience. If you could just as well say it out loud, what is the point of writing it down?

So in conclusion I have to say that this piece is touching but unextraordinary as it is not significantly different from ordinary speech.

This is really nice (way to expressed yourself like that. But, there quite a few problems with the writing; I just don't see how it can be part of the poetry? It's more like prosing and free style writing ways. Other than that, it's all good. My favorite line happen to be this;

"Nothing can stop those strings from playing as it sings it's mournful song"

This is the best one that I really enjoyed the most...

OWWWW!
Not the thing to write about.
The husband gone I mean.
Still it's kinda goth like.
This is heart felt for me.

This is so beautiful. In my heart I wished i was so poetic, to bring my fears to pen and paper, but i can't. keep up the good work.

Sad and haunting. That would be mine, also.

Beautifully written - but I expect that from you!
