Bleeding Heart

Bleeding Heart

A Poem by Diana Owen Busy with Life BBS!

I loved you through thick and thin.
I loved you through sickness and health.
I gave you the heaven and stars.
I gave you me.

I sat with my heart on my sleeve.
Bare to all.
Now I sit with my heart bleeding in my hands.

I regret every sleepless night I wasted on you
All the tears I wept.
I regret every breathe I shared with you.
Every love word that I gave selfless to you.
I regret the trust that I gave you.
I regret the vows that I honored.

You thought I was the fool.
You thought I would never know.
Your problem was… You thought.

I will go on living
I will go on believing
I will go on trusting
I will go on…
And Without You.

This is a strong poem that shows resolve and that you will go on and never look back. That's a great way to handle things, if you can't move on, you'll never go forward. Great write. T

This is not sad in my eyes as most have said in the reviews. I personally think it speaks volumes of self strength and of loving yourself enough to stand up for yourself. Screaming to the heavens themselves that you are not weak and you do not need that person to make you complete as you are complete with out them and are a better person for having known them but there is no way they will control who you are and that is stated here perfectly without a doubt.

Well Done!!!!!!

This is soo sad. I am sorry you have to go through this, but they say we have to go through all the bad apples in the barrel before getting to the good one...so here's to finding your good apple! :)

Yes, I think it's important to use energy in the right way. Your final stanza shows how someone can stand up for themselves and move on to hopefully bigger and better things. Don't look back - memories become muddled and are not always true......
Nice work.

A powerful and positive way to deal with one of life's more difficult problems. This was very well written and the tone of hope at the end was excellent. Well done and thank you so much for sharing.

A very open and revealing poem, your emotions so strong. What I enjoy is the end, your strength and will to go on.

"I will go on living
I will go on believing
I will go on trusting
I will go on
And Without You."

I love how it shows loss and regret but still the will to go on. I like poems with will, they make me feel a bit better.
great job

ouch, betrayal is sad ... it's sad when you turn around to realize that you may have been taken advantage of ... humiliated. these are very raw emotions and you did a spectacular job of making the reader feel. great write and you really nailed the ending ... i love a good ending! nice write Diana

'I regret the vows that I honored'

Now that is true evidence of the end. There are a number of door-slammers in this poem--quite a collection actually. Up to the final quintet at the end.

Summarized the feelings of finality.

Thanks for the submission.
