Lost Beyond Reason

Lonliness embraces me,

 

On most days I cry,

 

Still I continue down this long path

 

That takes me no where fast

 

Besides this hopelessness that haunts me

Every day of my life.

Your memories fill my every second

 

Only to remind me that you are gone

 

Now i walk endlessly

 

Down this broken road,

 

Reasons unknown to me

 

Even though I try to remember why.

 

Another missing piece of this puzzle

 

Seems to elude my every thought

 

Only now do I realize

 

Nothing can bring you back alive

This was sad but beyond that... Awesome acrostic. The flow is really good and your lines make sense anyway they are laid out.

Very poignant; somber and sad. Nice job of portraying your thoughts, yet the poem need not have the first letter of every word a different color to spell out the title. Your words and writing are strong enough without this attempt to make it more creative. Subtlety goes much further. Still, I enjoyed reading it as I'm will others.

I've got to be careful no to read too many of your poems in a single day. They are so dark and so sad. I'm trying not to be depressed on this cold, rainy day, and you aren't helping. I'm lucky never to have lost a loved one that close (even at my advanced age!), but I think you really bring the emotion to life in your poem. Good work.
