A Ghost upon my Heart

You are standing there but you look right through me.

I speak but you do not answer.

My foot steps make no sound.

If I had a heart it would be breaking.

I long to touch you, but If i try my hand

would pass through you.

My nearness is just a chill in the night

I feel tears but they do not fall.

As the wind sweeps me away.

A ghost upon your memories.

a ghost upon my heart.

So sad yet so lovingly wrought -- I especially like the line "my nearness is just a chill in the night" .... And, tho the photo shows a ghost or a wraith, I think this can apply to flesh-and-blood people too. Then, of course, it might not be so lovingly done, but I do wonder how often we don't see or hear someone who's screaming (in his or her own way) right beside or in front of us.

This is a sad and tender piece, I'd even say ghostly. I enjoyed reading it very much.

This seems a little awkward to me, but I'm not sure how I'd fix it:

this was a great piece. it put a very human voice to the afterlife or in this case the in-between life.
