Last timeA Story by KittyKatgirlA woman stays by her husband's side in his lasting moments."Your cancer has spread you only got 3 weeks to live. These are the words that nobody ever wants to hear. I gasped looking over at my husband my face pale. "It's ok. I can fight this" he said bravely. He was only 30 years old how could he have cancer I thought. I grabbed his hand as the doctor said he was sorry and stood up. I glared at him hoping he could do something that would save my husband postpone his death. But all the doctor did was formally nod goodbye and left the room. I broke down in tears. My husband sat beside me wrapping me in a hug how could he be so brave he was going to die in just 3 weeks. "Everything will be ok Casey" he said. "Even if I die I'll always be watching you" he said. 3 weeks later "Please don't leave me" I begged clutching his pale hand as he lied on the hospital bed. "I'm sorry honey it's time" he said. "No please" I cried. I watched his eyes drain of colour as he struggled to breathe. Tears travelled down my cheeks. "I'll always be watching over you. Ask if you can get my ashes in a box then you can take me wherever you go. Nothing will ever hurt you" he said barely audible as he took his last breathe and his hand slipped from mine. "No. Why?" I screamed to the hospital roof crying. I went to his funeral and asked if I could have his ashes in a box. I never went anywhere without that box. He was my first and only lover and I was never going to lose him. I knew he was waiting up there for me till it's my time but i still had a part of him with me/ © 2015 KittyKatgirlReviews
