If I So Choose

If I So Choose

A Poem by Emily

Sometimes I am fit for these dark halls
With all its shadowy chambers
And yet, If I so choose, I can fly away
And join in the clouds' revelry

Do you guess me to be immortal?
Born from a mythical beast?
I am neither
Just a simple being
Not even controlling my moods
But I can be, if I so choose

Can you make the stars cry?
How dare you do such a thing
I can, if I so choose

For I am everything you seek
A God on Earth, if you will
But I am not
If I so choose
