CinderellaA Story by EmilyJust a little piece I wrote while looking for inspiration. Could be an excerpt for a book.
It was perfect. He took my hand and led me to the center of the room. A song drifted to our ears, and we began to waltz effortlessly across the floor. The room was crowded, filled to the brim with people, but we didn't care. I spun by his lead and dipped into his strong, safe arms. The lilting tune faded away to nothing as his lips met mine. The kiss was tender and full of love. We stood there, holding each other, as if the world depended on it. Perhaps it did. Because when we kissed, the world stood still. When we kissed, nothing and no one else mattered. Eventually we had to break away from each other, as others started encroaching on our personal space. But we held hands to the edge of the floor, and in that moment, when we never let go, I knew that eternal love was possible. I had experienced it. Finally, true love was real.
