Dreamer

Dreamer

A Poem by Emily
"

A song.

"
I'm just a dreamer
But isn't anyone?
Isn't anyone?
I'm just a dreamer
A dreamer of  the pearl and rose
Oh
The rose of life and death
The pearl of roads to come
I'm just a dream
Of long ago

In the plain of love
I've been through briers
Deep and tall
In the forest of life
We have to find the right tree to climb
But in every tree there's a branch
It's just too weak to hold  you and your dreams

I'm just a dreamer
But isn't anyone?
Isn't anyone?
I'm just a dreamer
A dreamer of  the pearl and rose
Oh
The rose of life and death
The pearl of roads to come
I'm just a dream
Of long ago

 Once,
I saw myself
As something odd
Society is never benign
Now I see
A  person fit for anything

I'm just a dreamer
But isn't anyone?
Isn't anyone?
I'm just a dreamer
A dreamer of  the pearl and rose
Oh
The rose of life and death
The pearl of roads to come
I'm just a dream
Of long ago

This is such a wonderful comparison!
I loved this poem, it describes how life is right now.
Nicely done!

My Dear Writing Friend,
A powerful poem, you’ve painted words so vibrant they stand out like a rainbow in a world of gray. You asked the question “isn’t anyone”, I think the answers to this question would be we all dream but are fearful. I pondered before my fire this question and this thought accrued to me. Roses need good soil to grow; just maybe the ashes of dreams of old give a better soil for roses to bloom in. If we can use those ashes like a guide to the attributes we desire in others and what we will not tolerated. Mix in friendship, time, mutual respect, being transparent, and a little hope I think love will eventually blossom. It will not be a heavy smothering cloak, causing the branch on which we sit so give way and sending us hurtling to the ground.
Your poem stated, “Now I see A person fit for anything”. It would appear this path has brought growth making you a stronger, matured woman with a better understanding of self.
Your line “I'm just a dream Of long ago” made me think of dreams being like the effects of a flat stone that was once sent skipping is a pool of water. The ripples went in all directions. Each filled with hope and endless possibilities. In a way we are the dreams of those from the past. I touched on this idea in my posted poem “I am You and You are Me” Don’t quit skipping stones, some dreams come true.
My dream for you is that all the beautiful, and lovely things life can offer will come your way. That you will find a life soul mate that will not try covering you in a heavy cloak that will send you falling once more from that branch, but who’s love will be as light as air. A love that you will breath deeply of as the two of you boost towards the stars, escaping all gravity with no fear of falling back towards earth.

Blessings, Laughing-Bear
