Racing the Sun

Racing the Sun

A Poem by Emily
"

Another poem for a book.

"
I worship the day
I fear the night
My everlasting nightmare
Dream catchers cannot catch
Sunrise is my savior

The first scar will always hurt
Like the first burning ray touching the Earth
The wounds get ever deeper
The day cleanses the bruised night
The night cleanses the soulful day

I am always racing the Sun
To see who can hit rock bottom first
But for once,
I lost
