The Shade of NightA Story by EmilyA story form another site. had to change names because they were animals. It wouldn't make sense.
She laughed at the thunder booming overhead. The lightning was
sneered at every time it struck. While her younger sister clung to her bed awaiting the awful sunshine,Serena was slowly realizing who she really was. She was brave. She was strong. She often had premonitions of what was to come. And she was always right. Serena was a storm shade, master of evil weather. An even darker light filled the sky. She saw the drapes begin their dance. The house was never drafty, and all the windows were shut tight. Adele made sure of that. Maybe it's my powers finally coming in,she thought.Suddenly, the door blew off its hinges."No! It is not. Not yet."The spirit cried. Serena stumbled back a few steps. For a moment, she thought she had seen him and knew him."You!"she shouted at the cloaked figure."Ah. You seem to remember me, but only a little. Your premonitions were correct."He put his hand on her shoulder, then continued."You will accept the offer following,I presume? You always wanted to be a storm shade." "I have..."she confessed. But she had learned a hard lesson before he came along.Wishes were always granted at a price. The tattered cloak fluttered and gave Serena a chill."At what cost?" she inquired. The master shade slowly took off his hood. His pale face and shaved silver locks shocked the room with its brightness.Serena instantly knew what was happening. She called on a spell Nicelle, her witch tutor, taught her.The spirit was taken aback by the raspy incantation."Thas canta fantchoo taq thas meir feurl.Vastin ber tchiq!" The figure was disintegrated, but he was heard for many miles saying this:"How could you know?" © 2011 EmilyAuthor's Note
