Soulmates (We)

Soulmates (We)

A Poem by Emily

Maybe we are two ingredients in
The same primordial soup
Or we became the first star the Big Bang spewed out
I don't know. Our origins don't matter.
What matters is that the energy of our being manifested
Into beings that understand iotas of what we are.
What we may be.

Maye we once were binary stars,
Orbiting each other until one of us explodes
Leaving the other surrounded by remains.

But I firmly believe we're not always pairs.
Maybe our soup stirred more of us together
Or that very first supernova cast us all far away.
Maybe we divided our energy and we keep finding
Clones of our bond like breadcrumbs in the forest.
I like that one best.

If good luck is real
We'll end up as lovers,
But there are some things a soul learns alone.

If I could remember every thing we were, I would.
If I could know every place we were, I would.
If I could remember our multitude, I'd do it in a
Human heartbeat.

Maybe once we liked on different planets
Connected only by the same sense of
Loneliness
Emptiness
Vastness

There are innumerable ways to be bound together
Family
Friends
An artist and their muse
A pack or a pride
A revolution and its cause
Even organs in a body (I'll be the kidneys, the lungs are all yours)
I just hope we're together.

To describe this condition we (possibly) my (not) have,
I've searched far and wide, and I've come to
One solution.
We.
A word without singularity,
A feeling of joy and togetherness.
A commitment.
The closest thing we've got to happiness.

Thank you, but I'm not much of a songwriter. I doubt it'll ever get attached to a melody.
I Like this poem.if i didn't know better i would say its a dedication to some one close or you trying to get the massage across.

Kidneys and lungs it simply says if one of the organ dies there will be no life,i like it.

This poem is one poem to be read over and over again. The senses are perfect and clear.Figure of speech briliant.WELL DONE.

Keep doing the great job.

Thank you so much! I love your interpretation.
Emily: I love it...was excited, haven't seen a poem of yours lately and as always you didn't dissapoint. I heard myself saying aloud; I agree with everything! I love the title and your explanations, desires, questions - visualizing tiny cells, pulled together by another's aura...by something unexplainable. Into what we may be...thoughts of wisdom; I hope everyone reads it; it's unique, beautiful; love the metaphors, and the visuals; it's funny, it's almost like a dialougue, but he/she's out there listening. I wondered why you chose kidneys and lungs/2 & 2, we need to survive I suppose? What imagination; to describe this condition, certain it's me; kind of stumbled - anyway, thanks again. Dale

Your welcome...but thanks...let me know when you finish please...d
an almost universal poem Emily, from the far reaches of space your love flows into the here and now until the realization, no need to wander so far because love is just being 'We' very well done :)
