Sacrifice

Sacrifice

A Poem by Emily
"

Teen for blood/gore

"
Making the steps up to the altar, I smile
Thousands cheer before me
Tláloc will drink tonight

The knife drags down the screaming
Screams of pain, screams of agony
Screams of joy, screams of ecstasy
           Scream of triumph

Dig, crack, tear
Peel away these useless layers
Confining layers locking the treasure within

A drum beat
A strong, virgin drumbeat
The hand plunges in
Rip, rip, RIP! it out
Rip it out!
And the gods will have their sacrifice.

Devour it.
The blood soaking your hand so tempts your lusting teeth
It's almost glistening, that mass of meat.

The rest won't be wasted.
I hope they have a feast.

I am the sacrifice.
I am those demanding gods.
I am the high priest, killer.
And I,
I,
Am the crowd of thousands, cheering for the death.

your welcome
This is so creepy but in a way I think it's perfect. I like how the short sentences form a kind of staccato beat. It's a little crazy, but as I was reading this I almost felt the terrible frenzy of the crowds and the killer and there was a feeling of sickening excitement, like I couldn't stop reading even though I wanted to. This is amazing right here, even if it's going to give me nightmares. Great job :)
