Coronation Song

Coronation Song

A Poem by Emily

If I can rule without mistaking
Disaster for the church bells ringing
Or calm whatever storm is raging
My life will be my reign.

If I can beat back a famine,
The pangs, for just a day,
This country's demons, will I slay,
My life will be my reign.

In my two hands I hold the world,
In spirit, and in strength.
It is my post to aid and care,
My life will be my reign.

If I can stop one heart from breaking
I shall not live in vain
If I can stop my homeland's quaking
My life will be my reign.

your very welcome
What beautiful writing is here. I put simply, love the way you write. From the beginning I am drawn in - pulled to continue forth, if I can rule without mistaking disaster for church bells ringing. It is tense, I feel the pressure building as it goes on so lovely. Thank you so much. You write beautifully!
