Lady of the Lands

Lady of the Lands

A Poem by Emily

Who is she?
Her eyes are twisting pools of color
Hues of sky, dark sand, and sea.
Her skin could be a painter's palette,
So many tones in pointillist style
I could never count them all

Her body is in a haze
Every swish of her hips
Turns petite into large and every shape between.

Nothing about her is constant.
Everything about them is unique.

If I blink I might miss her
She might blow away with the wind
Or become the vast prairie

She is still before me
Above me
Around me
In me

Where is she now?
The grass feels sacred where she stood.
Where is she, I wonder, but I already know the truth.
Her benevolence washes over like the tide.
And I now stand in the deep.
