Six Degrees

Six Degrees

A Poem by Emily

1. That's a shame. There's too many
accidents like that these days. Oh well.

2. That's my school, that's me! Oh my
God...This can't be...

3. A girl I might've known in a place
I might've been. A boy I passed once
or twice in the halls...Another I saw
in the quad. I wish I'd been closer.

4. Just breathe, there's a weight settling.
Just weep, there's an overflow here too.
Just grieve? What else can we do?

5.Let us not lament what they could've
been, but remember who they were.

6. I've written this poem, with so many
words, when only three will do: Rest. In.
Peace.
