Breaking Point

Breaking Point

A Poem by Emily

She is the glittering light
Gleaming with a saint-like glow
You douse her fire

Encroaching in the darkness
You mimic the bubbling pit of Hell you originate
To snap the neck of Good

How can anyone fathom her loving you
Or has that crumbled into pure obligation?
Wounded and wailing she still comes to you
And you deal her the same harm

You must be enveloped in oblivion
To truly believe
To be truly righteous in your views

Over and over
Crime after crime
and she is tired
So tired
At what point will you see
When will you end
Or will action have to be taken?
Surely people will be willing to do the job

Rest assured
Your days are numbered
