Lonely

Lonely

A Poem by Emily

No one's here, baby
The night has swept through our houses and made them eerie
I'm wailing and whining
Aching for some life

Isolation
In our little tract houses
It structures us

I'm coming over
Wrap me in your warmth
Let us share in the love we're both denied

Isn't this how it's supposed to be?
My head against your chest
Our hands clasped tight
It feels like home
But I'm far away from mine

Listening to your heartbeat
Its gentle rhythm beats out the loneliness
Your hold on me is the most comfortable thing
I close my eyes
And drift into home
Where our hearts are.
