The Archetype

This is the setup for my up coming novella and vampire universe...

As the dark rogue runs through the nights mist he recollects all memory of his destination and his target. As the rogue approaches a castle he silently scales a tree, flipping from limb to limb getting to what seemed to be a window. Studying the castle and thinking of all the possible ways to get in he begins to think that he will have to undertake the whole castle by himself. Suddenly a ghostly figure floats past the window as he darts his eyes up to the motion he notices the window is open. As he walks to the edge of the tree limb he removes his hood revealing his long braided hair with shining small pointed objects tied into his braids. Glancing down at the distances between him and the window he bounds to the window landing on the sill, and lets out a small sigh. Gazing into the large room he steps on the sturdiest board that he sees and walks around looking to see if he is in the right place. Hearing a slight yawn he turns and sees a small girl sleeping. Closing his eyes praying that this is not who he came for.  Opening his eyes to explore the room some more he sees a silver necklace on the bedside table and picks it up. On the necklace was the name engraved, Faith. Recognizing the name he throws down the necklace and walk back to the window to leave. Feeling a slight motion behind him he lofts into the nights are but is grabbed and pulled back into the room. As he feels a sharp pain in his neck he pulls away instinctively and sees Faith with his blood dripping from her lips. Jumping up he darts back out of the window but gets bitten once more and crashes into the forest floor unconscious. The next morning he finds himself back in Faith's room on the bed still tired. As he sits up he hears the voice of a young lady softly echo through the room. Gazing around he asks, "Who are you and what do you want with me?" Appearing sitting on the bed next to him Faith Replies, "Now that you know who I am, who are you and why are you here?" Stepping off of the bed rubbing his neck finding nothing wrong says, "I am Synn, I have come to kill you but I must be leaving." Slightly smiling Faith says, "Well why are you in such a hurry, why don't you just kill me?" Feeling questioned at the girl's attitude he doesn't answer but gets off of the bed and walks to the window. Grinning he replies, "Why didn't you kill me or change me?" Still smiling she answers, "I have my reasons, and so do you." Sitting on the window sill he says, "I was sent to kill you but I thought you were an innocent girl, but I was proven wrong, the weird thing is I still have no desire to kill you now even though you did bite me last night." As Faith's smile widens showing her fangs get stands up and walks to the door saying, "This is my castle you can do whatever you please, I believe you will find very challenging to leave." Raising an eyebrow he asks, "What do you mean by that?" As her long silky black hair flows behind her she vanishes out of the room softly singing. After several months of staying with Faith and even going with her on some of her "hunts" Synn realizes that he his falling in love with Faith. One day as Synn is walking out the front door of the castle during daylight hours Faith questions from her top window, "Where might you be going my dark warrior?" Turning back Synn answers, "I have decided to take my leave now." Facing back towards the forest he hears Faith begin to sing and walks away. Camping in the woods at night Synn questions himself, "What am I doing? I am in love with the one that I was sent to kill. Am I to join her?" As Synn closes his eyes he prays and walks back to the castle silently. Opening the large wooden door he notices there is no sound. Walking onto the red carpet he quickly turns around as Faith down darts from the balcony. Catching Faith in her dive he pins to her to the ground and smiles, "Kinda looks like I am staying."  Smiling back Faith replies, "Well I would say so." As Weeks past of the same thing happening and getting harder to find a reason to leave, Synn finally walks out after telling Faith he loved her. Vanishing into the nights mist he begins his plans to rid the world of all evil vampires and demons. After years of planning and the pain of losing Faith he forgets Faith as the vampire, but only remembers the love that he once had. As he makes other slayer friends and kills vampires along the way he hears word from one of his friends, Dark, Dark was a former vampire and was changed back after dying and coming back to life as a human. As Synn questions Dark, "So Dark do you know anything of this 'Head' Vampire deal that has been going around?" Dark replied explaining, "Actually I have, it is said that once you kill the head vampire that all of these vampires that we have that are generals and sorts will be gone." Questioning again Synn asks, "Is there anyway to find this head vampire?" Smiling Dark answers, "It's not that hard it's a giant black palace, it's not like they have anything to fear." Nodding Synn says, "Oh. Well I have an idea, what if we sneak into the Palace?" Thinking Dark answers, "That would work but we need more than us two to perform this task no matter how stealthy and smart we are." Smiling Synn replies, "I have three people that I know will help. The first is Jon; he is a great fighter and leader, the second Rage, and the third, Viking. They are also good fighters, a little head strong but fighters none the less." Pleased at the response Dark nods and then the two are off to Japan to meet Jon. As they get to Jon's hidden palace they tell him of their plan and they travel to Obsidian for Viking and Rage, the brothers of fury. Upon arriving to Obsidian City the three finds those in what seems to be a riot lead by Rage and Viking. As they walk the streets they are stopped by two giant men and to their surprise its Rage and Viking. After the two brothers heard the story they were more than ready to take up their arms and fight. As they left the Obsidian City still in chaos to fight Demonesa in The Land of Evil, Rage and Viking gathered what few troops that the could  leaving enough to be sure that they won there battle there. As the walk the barren wasteland they scout out for any place of refuge till they strike. With the only vegetation being dead trees and bushes they find a boulder and camp behind it. At the next sunrise they began the attack wiping out each individual camp of vampires and guards. Each person having their own tasks that was the last time they all saw each other till the end. As Dark and Synn raced into the Black Palace Synn noticed a pattern and told Dark to go to the door on the left and Dark did so and vanished into the shadows. As Synn ran through the door before him a shadow fell upon him and he felt his neck being nicked. As he turns around he sees the shadow fly over him and vanishes. Rubbing his neck he walks down the hallway to the throne room or at least where he thinks it would be. "I have no smelled of blood like this since..." the figures said sitting on its throne. As the figure walks toward Synn it draws a sword of what seemed to be a black flame. Synn unsheathed his diamond edged sword and face the being. The figure being fully cloaked lunges at Synn. As Synn backs up and blocks he notices the cut on his arm. Eyes widening Synn stands and readies himself again. Blurring out of view the figure swirls around Synn cutting him all over. Synn staggering back with cuts all over him and the struggle to stay awake begins runs at the being with anger in his eyes. As the person spins and grabs Synn from behind it sinks its fangs deep into his neck, Dropping his sword Synn pushes away the vampire. Now smiling the vampire removes its hood and Synn almost faints out of shock. "Faith???" as he gets her name out she asks, "How do you know me I have no went by that name in so long of a time? But anyway that is not my concern now I want your blood." Now bleeding from his neck to his legs Synn stays standing up but in shock bleeding to death. As he finally passes out the last vision Synn sees is of Faith holding him in her arms draining him.

 

 

                                  Several Months later...

 

                Several Months later Dark and Jon return to the palace after burying Viking and Rage. As the two venture into the Palace the walk along the path till the can smell blood in the air. As Jon and Dark run into the throne room they see Synn in Faith's arms asleep. As Faith runs his fingers down Synn's braids she looks up and tells Synn's friends, "He is fine, he is with me where he belongs. Leave, it is over between us." As the two look Synn over they decide he is in good hands feeling the overwhelming sense of love that Faith has and turn to walk away into the dark. After Dark and Jon leave Faith leans down and softly presses full her lips to Synn's kissing him, waking him up from his silent sleep.
