Baby's BreathA Poem by TessahI place my hands upon my waist caressing the hollow within if I were to remain chaste, here - no life would begin. I often daydream of men to take me plant a seed within my soil on some days, my heart is aching- longing for a child, within my body's coil.
If you shall grow within my walls, I would sing to you all day- while awaiting your arrival, my voice calls, my stomach is the cocoon where you lay, and surely without voice you won't refuse, the melody in solitude I sing, my child, my silent audience, subdued without objection- you're a perfect thing.
The months of my gestation quickly pass, and within my body you will cease to be, I'll hold you for the first time, lad or lass- yet longing for you to be among me. The separation depresses my mind, although you're in the safety of my arms, to look within my stomach you would find- a hollow, empty place of fragile charm.
But I love you, my child. Your breath flickers throughout your lungs, upon your face spreads a smile, composed of matter where the stars are hung, you're the most important being forever, I will love, and laugh, and raise you- forget my work, I'll play with you whenever, and accept you on whatever path you choose.
