your gaze suggests all things in which I drown

your gaze suggests all things in which I drown

A Poem by Tessah

 your glance, which is startling in its beauty

may seize the breath from my slow, steady lung

with pools-of-water eyes that gaze through me

beneath the ocean's surface I am hung

within your voice escapes a muted sigh

and further from the shore I disappear

in repose, I sense your warmth and lie;

in silence, yet you voice I wish to hear

submerged beneath the ocean of your gaze

to look at you is to forfeit my breath

your striking presence captivates my days

until, within my lungs, no air is left.
