Darkness From Above

the darkness fell over the land
those that lived beneath it fled in terror
as the heavens opened above
down upon them in the dark of the night
came the fire from above

the villagers fled, their homes destroyed
the children crying in the darkness
what had become of their scared land
had the gods above been angry with them
to bring this darkness down upon them

those that lived cried in the darkness
asking the gods above for forgivness
that they would leave their land
and give them back hope and love
and not the darkness from above
