The first few unsure feelings that I loved

My Space

Your Space

Side by side, inches away yet it feels too far

I long to reach over and close the gap

My Hand

Your Hand

Separated by a wall of uncertainty,

You shift closer then retract; the sound of

Your Breath

My Breath

Synchronized.  The rise and fall of your chest quickens 

Mine follows, as my heartbeat joins the race

My Touch

Your Touch

Not a question of lust, but one of expression

As I ache to tell you how I feel

My Thoughts 

Your Thoughts

With hope that they're similar, but fear that they're not

So for now I sit in contemplative silence 

As I question the possibility of 

My Space

Your Space

Becoming Our Space.
