The Brown Bull of Ulster

The Brown Bull of Ulster

A Poem by Brown Bull
"

Just how I spend my days

"

The Brown Bull of Ulster

I spend my days in pastures green,
full of things that all delight me.

Where dew kissed grass abounds,
and the golden sunshine warms me.

Bright colored birds will often land…
On the white fence that surrounds me.

And when the soft spring breezes blow,
heifers will come and find me.

And sometimes I’ll begin to feel,
it was all put here just for me.

But as I gaze at the deep blue skies,
spotted white with puffy clouds...

I'll know for sure...
that my Farmer cares about me.

What I like about this is that there is detail and a ton of imagery. You ad such descriptive words such as : soft, deep, feel, gaze.. it really connects the reader and links everything precisely. Also, the fact you have based it off your own character, the BB (Brown Bull) ... really adds a nice touch!

I agree with Honeypot I too "loved the religious metaphor in this one."

Loved the religious metaphor in this one. And personification of the bull. It shows your humorous, light hearted side. Which is wonderful by the way. Great job. I'm not sure that it could be improved. Great job.

I was born long ago on a hot summer day in a field in Mississippi. I can't remember anything about it, but all I know is that I was taken away from the field and have never been back, except in my po.. more..
